The New and Improved 2018 Lexus LS 500

Lexus lovers are in for a treat. With the recent release of the third-row Lexus RXL, Lexus is now releasing the new 2018 LS 500. While this sedan is known for craftsmanship, quality, and dependability, there are many more appealing advancements that make this vehicle the one you need to drive.

New Platform and More Power
The new LS 500 platform is built from the same one as the high-performance LC 500 coupe, giving this model a better driver experience and a higher level of comfort. The previous V8 engine has been replaced with a 3.5-liter, twin supercharged V6 that delivers more power. The new engine produces 416 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, while the previous model only generated 386 horsepower and 367 lb-ft of torque.

Interior Comfort
With the remarkable skills of the Lexus craftsmen, you’ll see intricate patterns and designs in the interior that were inspired by Japan. The ambient lighting is inspired by Japanese lanterns and the beautiful wood finishes were created by Takumi—their most senior craftsmen. To experience even more luxury, you’ll also notice more leg room, heating and massage options in the seating, and so much more.

Extra Safety Features
As always, Lexus is concerned about your well-being and that is why they are always improving the safety technology in all vehicles. You’ll be happy to know that the Lexus Safety System+ comes standard on this luxury sedan. With features like Pre-Collision Alert, Lane Departure Alert, Active Steering Assist, and more, you’ll have an extra set of eyes to help you prevent future car accidents.

Does this new information excite you and make you want to jump out of your chair and speed over to Larry H. Miller Lexus Murray? That’s what we thought. We’ll be awaiting your arrival and holding a spot for you to come and test drive the new 2018 LS 500.

What we Can Expect From The New 2018 Lexus LS 500

As the end of the 2017 year approaches, many Lexus enthusiasts are anticipating the arrival of the new 2018 Lexus LS 500. A full redesign hasn’t happened since the model year 2007 so this will be an exciting year for all of us. The new 2018 Lexus LS 500 was unveiled at the New York International Auto Show. Here are some awesome new features we gathered from the recent press release.

F SPORT Look
Lexus designers didn’t hold back when giving the LS 500 its coupe-like silhouette and dramatic rendition of the Lexus signature spindle grille that shows even greater intricacy in the design. Developing the F SPORT grille took computer-aided design (CAD) operators some five months to achieve the desired texture and interaction with light.

LS 500 Chassis
The 2018 LS F SPORT models feature the latest generation of the brand’s advanced chassis control technology, Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM), which has been refined since its debut more than a decade ago.
The new VDIM system implements cooperative control of all vehicle subsystems–braking, steering, powertrain, and suspension–to control basic longitudinal, lateral, and vertical motion as well as yaw, roll, and pitch. Optimal control of these motions helps to enable exceptional ride comfort, enhanced traction, and safety and handling agility, and allows for enriched flat vehicle posture during cornering as well as a more comfortable and stable ride overall.

Sporting Genes
415-Horsepower Heart with a 10-Speed Partner, Lexus designed an all-new 3.5-liter V6 engine specifically for the new 2018 LS 500, using twin turbochargers developed through the company’s F1 technology. This new twin-turbo V6 offers V8-level performance–415 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque–paired with the first-ever 10-speed automatic transmission offered in a luxury sedan.

F SPORT Inside
Lexus shifted the LS 500 cabin to fit the F SPORT aesthetic by applying trim and features exclusive to this version. A common thread through all LS models remains: omotenashi, the concept of Japanese hospitality. When applied to the LS 500, it means taking care of the driver and passengers, anticipating their needs, attending to their comfort, and helping to protect them from hazards.

The anticipated sale date for the new LS is at the end of the 2017 year, and we at Larry H. Miller Lexus Murray are excited for its arrival. In the meantime, if you are in the market to purchase a new Lexus, browse our online inventory. If you see something you like, schedule a test drive today!
