Three Spring Hikes Perfect for the Warmer Weather in Salt Lake County

Spring means the beginning of hiking season! This is great news for outdoor lovers who don’t necessarily want to be doing stuff when it’s freezing outside. Here are three of our favorite hikes to help you get ready for the warmer days ahead:

Rocky Mouth Waterfall
Let's start with an easy trail. This short waterfall hike is less than one-mile roundtrip and is located near Sandy, UT. If you’re not much of a hiker or just want to get out during the spring for a quick trip, this is the perfect hike for you.

Ensign Peak
Looking for a hike to view the city? Spring is a great time to go on this hike because it’s so close to the city and most of the snow will have melted come April (unless the unpredictable weather decides it wants to snow again). Nonetheless, this easy trail is near a residential area right above the Utah State Capitol building. It’s about one-mile roundtrip and is also dog-friendly.

Living room
This moderate hike is located in Salt Lake City near the University of Utah or, more specifically, very close to Red Butte Garden. Many people don’t know about this hidden gem because it can be confusing to get there, but it’s a fun hike because once you get there you can relax on the stone furniture—nature’s living room. Be cautious as this trailhead is considered moderate. There could still be some snow along the steep parts of the trail.

Does this make you want to get out and explore? Utah is known for its outdoors but sometimes you have to travel quite a distance to get to that perfect trail. For that very reason, we want to make sure you and your love ones get to your destination safely. Take some time to inspect your vehicle or stop by Larry H. Miller Lexus Murray’s service department where a skilled technician can make sure your vehicle is ready to hit the trails.

Four Important Spring Cleaning Tips for Lexus Owners

Before you know it, spring will be knocking on your door. Once it’s in full swing you’ll want to do some cleaning, not only for your house but for your Lexus. Don’t forget that vehicles need loving too! Get your vehicle ready for the warmer season by following these four important tips.

1.     Clean the Interior – Dirt, dust, salt, and other debris will most likely build up inside your vehicle. Utah winters create a mess and it’s your job to make sure you get rid of it. Throw away any trash and put away those winter items you don’t need anymore. Then, scrub your mats, vacuum the carpet and upholstery, and wipe down anything you can. As a proud luxury car owner, you might want the best treatment for your car—an interior detailing. You can always visit us at Larry H. Miller Lexus Murray to get this service done.

2.     Wash the Exterior – Most people just run their cars through an automatic car wash, but it might do you some good to hand-wash your prized possession this time. With a thorough hand wash, you can get to those hard-to-reach areas that a machine wash will miss. You should also spray your tires, wheels, and under your car to remove all the salt and grime collected from the winter.

3.     Get a Car Wax – To make your vehicle stand out, give it a good wax. Since winter is over, you’ll be ready to rock your ride with a shiny coat. Waxing your car will give it protection from outdoor contaminants and protect your paint from any damage.

4.     Maintenance – Make sure you are up-to-date with regular maintenance. Get your oil changed, check your tires, and inspect everything. Cold weather can wreak havoc on your ride, so as the longer days and sunshine approach, make sure your vehicle is ready to enjoy it to the fullest with a thorough maintenance check.

A good spring cleaning is one of the most important things you can do for your car once winter is over. Especially with Utah weather, you’ll want to make sure your car is salt-free. Follow these tips and bring your car to us for an inspection or any other service your Lexus might need. We’re here to make sure your car is ready for spring.
